Blackburn Rovers Interim Boss Provides Update on Danny Batth’s Injury
Blackburn Rovers interim boss David Lowe has said they are yet to know how long Danny Batth could be out for.
Blackburn Rovers left the defender out of their weekend win over Plymouth Argyle. Rovers picked up all three points at Ewood Park after goals by Adam Forshaw and Tyrhys Dolan.
Batth, 34, has tweaked his hamstring and wasn’t in the squad against the Pilgrims. It remains to be seen the length of time he may be sidelined for now.
In this latest update regarding his condition, Lowe has said, as per a report by the Lancashire Telegraph: “Unfortunately he’s tweaked his hamstring, the length of the injury time we’re not 100% sure yet. And I must add Danny, once again he was there today, he’s a fantastic pro, I’ve really enjoyed working with him the last few days. Unfortunately for him now he’s got a little hamstring injury and hopefully he can recover as quickly as possible.”
Blackburn Rovers Injury Update Regarding Danny Batth
Blackburn Rovers signed Batth on a free transfer last year, and he has turned out to be a useful addition. The veteran has boosted their defensive ranks and has injected more experience into their squad.
He penned a one-year deal with the Lancashire outfit running until the summer of 2025, and they have a decision to make regarding his future. Batth has made 33 appearances in all competitions so far this season, 29 of which have come in the league, and he has chipped in with two goals.
After joining Rovers, he said at the time, as per the club website: “I’ve worked really hard over the summer and I’m very grateful for Wolves having me in there for the last three or four weeks, training with them, so I feel like I’ve got a really good base to build on now and hopefully I can get some minutes as soon as possible. I’ve had a really warm welcome here. There’s a lot of lads that I’ve played against over the years, it seems like a really good group – bubbly, bright and really focused.”
The Midlands-born man has had spells in the past at Wolves, Stoke City, Sunderland, and Norwich City.
Blackburn Rovers need to make checks on Batth to assess the severity of his injury. In the meantime, they are back in action this weekend away at Swansea City.
